Kingston Carpet Cleaning Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Kingston Carpet Cleaning provides professional cleaning services to domestic and commercial clients within our service area in the United Kingdom. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below.

Customer means any individual, business or organisation that requests or receives cleaning services from Kingston Carpet Cleaning.

Services means any carpet, upholstery, rug, mattress, hard floor or related cleaning service provided by Kingston Carpet Cleaning, including any ancillary or add-on services agreed with the Customer.

Premises means the property or properties where the Services are to be carried out.

Agreement means the contract between Kingston Carpet Cleaning and the Customer for the provision of Services, incorporating these Terms and Conditions and any written or verbal confirmation of the booking.

2. Scope of Services

Kingston Carpet Cleaning provides professional cleaning services within a defined service area in the United Kingdom. The exact range of services and availability may vary by location and time. A description of typical Services offered will be given at the time of enquiry or booking, including any specific limitations, recommended methods or suitability for particular materials.

All Services are subject to staff and equipment availability. Kingston Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to decline any booking that it reasonably considers unsuitable, unsafe or not feasible, including where access, parking, or site conditions make it impractical to deliver the Services to a professional standard.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Bookings may be made by the Customer via our designated booking channels. At the time of booking, the Customer will be asked to provide accurate information about the Premises, the areas or items to be cleaned, and any particular concerns, sensitivities or damage already present.

3.2 Quotations are based on the information supplied by the Customer and are given in good faith. Kingston Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to amend the quotation if the information provided was inaccurate or incomplete, or if the Premises or items to be cleaned differ significantly from the description initially given.

3.3 A booking will be regarded as confirmed once Kingston Carpet Cleaning has accepted the request for Services and has provided a date and approximate time window for the appointment. The Customer acknowledges that time of arrival is approximate and may vary due to traffic, previous jobs or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Kingston Carpet Cleaning.

3.4 Kingston Carpet Cleaning may request additional information or photographs of the Premises or particular items to assess the suitability of cleaning methods and to estimate the likely results and time required.

4. Access, Parking and Customer Obligations

4.1 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that Kingston Carpet Cleaning and its operatives have safe, suitable and timely access to the Premises at the agreed appointment time. This includes providing entry codes, keys, or an authorised person to grant access.

4.2 The Customer must ensure that adequate parking is available as near as reasonably possible to the Premises. If parking permits, pay and display tickets, or parking fees are required, the Customer is responsible for arranging or reimbursing these costs. Any additional walking distance or access difficulties that significantly affect the job may result in extra time charges.

4.3 The Customer should ensure that the areas to be cleaned are reasonably tidy and free of excessive clutter before the operatives arrive. Kingston Carpet Cleaning does not undertake to move heavy furniture, fragile items, valuable objects, or electrical equipment. Where items are moved by our operatives, this is done at their discretion and with reasonable care, but it remains the Customer’s responsibility to secure valuables and breakables.

4.4 The Customer must inform Kingston Carpet Cleaning of any known hazards at the Premises, including loose floor coverings, faulty electrics, alarm systems, pets, or any other circumstances that may affect the safe and effective delivery of the Services.

5. Pricing and Payment Terms

5.1 All prices are stated in pounds sterling and, unless clearly specified otherwise at the time of quotation, are inclusive of standard cleaning materials and labour for the described work.

5.2 Kingston Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to adjust prices to reflect significant changes in operating costs, taxes, or supplier prices. Any such changes will not affect bookings already confirmed, except where the original quotation was based on incorrect or incomplete information.

5.3 Payment is due in accordance with the payment terms notified at the time of booking. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for domestic Customers is due on completion of the Services on the day of the appointment. For commercial Customers, alternative invoicing and payment schedules may be agreed in advance.

5.4 Kingston Carpet Cleaning accepts various forms of payment as specified at the time of booking. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that payment can be made using the chosen method. Late payment may incur administration charges or interest at the statutory rate, without prejudice to other remedies available to Kingston Carpet Cleaning.

5.5 Kingston Carpet Cleaning may require a deposit or advance payment to secure a booking, particularly for large or specialist jobs. Deposits will be offset against the final invoice and are subject to the cancellation terms set out below.

6. Cancellations, Rescheduling and No-Show

6.1 The Customer may cancel or reschedule an appointment by giving reasonable notice via the designated contact channels. Specific notice periods and any applicable cancellation charges will be communicated at the time of booking and may vary according to the size or nature of the job.

6.2 Where a minimum notice period is specified at booking, cancellations or rescheduling requests received within that period may incur a cancellation fee, which may include retention of any deposit paid and a charge for any reasonable costs already incurred by Kingston Carpet Cleaning.

6.3 If the Customer fails to provide access to the Premises at the agreed time, or if the operatives are unable to commence work due to circumstances within the Customer’s control, this may be treated as a late cancellation or no-show. In such cases, Kingston Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to charge a call-out fee, a percentage of the quoted price, or to retain any deposit paid.

6.4 Kingston Carpet Cleaning may cancel or reschedule an appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, including staff illness, vehicle breakdown, severe weather, or safety concerns. In such cases, reasonable efforts will be made to offer an alternative appointment at a mutually convenient time. Kingston Carpet Cleaning will not be liable for any indirect costs, loss of earnings, or inconvenience caused by such changes, but any deposits taken for the affected appointment will be transferred or refunded where no suitable alternative can be offered.

7. Service Limitations and Results

7.1 While Kingston Carpet Cleaning uses professional equipment and methods and will exercise reasonable skill and care, no guarantee can be given that all stains, odours or marks will be completely removed or that pre-existing wear, fading, or damage can be reversed.

7.2 Certain substances, such as permanent dyes, chemical spills, or long-standing stains, may not respond fully to cleaning. The Customer acknowledges that cleaning may, on rare occasions, reveal pre-existing damage or colour variations that were not visible prior to cleaning.

7.3 Where the Customer has not disclosed previous cleaning treatments, stain protection products, or home remedies used on the items, Kingston Carpet Cleaning cannot be held responsible for unpredictable reactions or limited results arising from such undisclosed treatments.

8. Customer Property and Liability

8.1 Kingston Carpet Cleaning will take reasonable care while working on the Premises. However, the Customer is responsible for removing or safely securing jewellery, cash, antiques, delicate ornaments, artwork, and other valuable or easily damaged items.

8.2 In the unlikely event of damage caused directly by the negligence of Kingston Carpet Cleaning or its operatives, the Customer must report the issue as soon as reasonably practicable and in any case within 48 hours of completion of the Services. Kingston Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to inspect the alleged damage before any repair or replacement is undertaken.

8.3 Kingston Carpet Cleaning’s liability for any loss or damage arising from the provision of the Services shall be limited, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to the lesser of the cost of repair or replacement of the damaged item or the total price paid for the relevant Services.

8.4 Kingston Carpet Cleaning shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity, nor for any damage arising from inherent defects, wear and tear, or pre-existing conditions of the Premises or items cleaned.

8.5 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under UK law.

9. Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations

9.1 Kingston Carpet Cleaning complies with relevant UK regulations relating to the handling, storage and disposal of waste generated in the course of providing cleaning services. This includes the responsible use and disposal of cleaning solutions, containers and any extracted waste water where applicable.

9.2 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Kingston Carpet Cleaning is not engaged to remove general household waste, bulky items, or hazardous materials from the Premises. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the areas to be cleaned are free from such waste and from any substances or items that may pose a risk to health or safety.

9.3 Any waste generated during the provision of the Services that falls within the normal scope of carpet and upholstery cleaning, such as soiled water and used consumables, will be managed and disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations and industry best practice.

9.4 Where specialist waste handling is required, for example in cases of contamination, infestation, or hazardous spills, Kingston Carpet Cleaning may decline or suspend the Services and recommend that the Customer engages an appropriately licensed specialist contractor. Any additional costs arising from such circumstances shall be the responsibility of the Customer.

10. Health, Safety and Conduct

10.1 Kingston Carpet Cleaning is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Operatives are required to follow agreed procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment where necessary, and operate equipment in a safe manner.

10.2 The Customer must ensure that children, pets and other occupants are kept away from work areas, equipment and wet surfaces during and immediately after cleaning, until such areas are safe to access. The Customer is responsible for following any safety instructions or drying time guidance given by Kingston Carpet Cleaning.

10.3 Kingston Carpet Cleaning expects its operatives and Customers to treat each other with respect. Abusive behaviour, harassment or threatening conduct will not be tolerated. Kingston Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to withdraw Services and leave the Premises immediately if operatives feel unsafe or subject to unreasonable behaviour, and the Customer may still be liable for charges incurred up to that point.

11. Complaints and Service Issues

11.1 If the Customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should notify Kingston Carpet Cleaning as soon as possible, and in any event within 48 hours of completion, so that the issue can be investigated.

11.2 Subject to reasonable verification, Kingston Carpet Cleaning may offer to re-visit the Premises to inspect the work and, where appropriate, to carry out remedial cleaning of specific areas. This will be at no additional cost where the complaint is justified and directly relates to the standard of the Services provided.

11.3 Any further remedies or compensation will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the nature of the complaint, the condition of the items cleaned, and any limitations that were explained at the time of booking or prior to commencing the work.

12. Data Protection and Privacy

12.1 Kingston Carpet Cleaning collects and processes personal data in order to manage bookings, provide Services, issue invoices and communicate with Customers. Basic contact details, service history and relevant property information may be stored for these purposes.

12.2 Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. Kingston Carpet Cleaning will not sell personal data to third parties and will only share data where necessary for the provision of Services, compliance with legal obligations, or with the Customer’s consent.

13. Changes to Terms and Conditions

13.1 Kingston Carpet Cleaning may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, industry practice, or operational requirements. The latest version will apply to all new bookings made after the date of publication of the revised Terms and Conditions.

13.2 For ongoing or recurring service arrangements, Kingston Carpet Cleaning will take reasonable steps to inform Customers of any significant changes that may materially affect their rights or obligations.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

14.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

14.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the Agreement, or the provision of the Services.

By making a booking with Kingston Carpet Cleaning, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
